Mr. Rodgers was a veteran of the Second World War and served in France and Germany in the Patton's Third Army. Mr. Rodgers had a long career at the famous Henri Bendel in New York City. His passion, however, was entertainment which he performed in night clubs and dinner clubs his entire life. He was a Friday Night regular at The Lambs Club in New York, where he was a member. He sang all the 40's and 50's Hit songs and was known as Mr. Verse. He loved to start his songs off with their complete verses and have the audience left wondering what song they were about to hear.
He was a gentle, kind, and most importantly happy man. He brought cheer to all he met and always had a kind word and a joke to share.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 12805 Valleywood Drive, Woodbridge, Virginia 22192 on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 11a.m. with interment the following day in the family mausoleum at St. John's Cloister in Middle Village, New York.
