Lisa A. Lamoureux, 57
Lisa A. Lamoureux, of Woodbridge, VA, died in her home surrounded by family, at the age of 57 on October 20, 2018 after a long illness. Mrs. Lamoureux was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, catechist, mentor and friend.
A retired elementary school teacher, she concluded her career in the Prince William County School District after teaching for over 25 years in California, Rhode Island, Puerto Rico and Virginia. Her passion for teaching and for her students was most evident on a daily basis. A member of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, she served as a volunteer leader for Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts in Roosevelt Roads Puerto Rico and Woodbridge Virginia.
Mrs. Lamoureux was preceded in death by her father, the late Major (Ret, USMC) Raymond D. Bourque.
She is survived by her husband, LCDR (Ret, U.S. Navy) Joseph E. Lamoureux Jr, daughter Nicole M. Goble, and son Christian J. Lamoureux, of Woodbridge; her mother Maria D. Bourque-Maysonet of PR; brother Alan G. Bourque COL (Ret, U.S. Army) and sister in law Kim Bourque of Carlisle, PA; nephew Jason Bourque and wife Jenni and son Charlie of CO; Justin Bourque of NC; father in law Joseph E. Lamoureux and mother in law Mardella Y. Lamoureux of SC; brother in law Jeff Lamoureux of CT; and sister in law Tracey Benham and husband Jeff and nephew Julian of CT.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on October 25, 2018 at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd, Woodbridge, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11 AM, Friday, October 26, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 12805 Valleywood Drive, Lake Ridge, VA, with interment to follow at 1 PM at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family is working to establish a scholarship fund in honor of Lisa for student accepted to a teaching degree program in Virginia. Information will be provided in the future as it becomes available.
