Max B. Gonzales

Max B. Gonzales was born on November 18, 1931, in Tuy, Batangas, Philippines to Marciano and Juanita Gonzales.  His father died when Max was only twelve years old and Max had to work very hard to support the family.  On August 14, 1953, Max joined the US Navy in which he served for 26 years and rose to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer.  Max married Sofia E. Bernales on September 26, 1955.  They were married for 38 years until her death. On July 13, 1995, Max married Emelinda J. Dizon, to whom he was married for 22 years until his death on the Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes, February 11, 2018.
Max is survived by wife, Emy, and his 5 children with Sofia:   Ernesto (Kelly), Lorna (Brant), Lolita (Thomas), Anthony (Alicia), and Beverly (John) and by Emy's three sons: Euliver, Von, and Virgil.  He is also survived by 20 grandchildren: David (Maggie), Shawn (Quincy), Julie (Thomas), Daniel, Nicolas (Rebecca), Cristin (Jamie), Monica (James), Gabriella, Marina, Jonathon, Olivia, Jordan, Vonica, Margaret, Benjamin, Samuel, Timothy, Erin, Owen, and Bridget, and by 9 great-grandchildren: Brandon, Kavina, Rhyker, Isabella, Beaudin, Alana, Stephen James III, Sofia, and Lena.  In addition, Max is survived by 5 brothers: Joaquin (Milagros), Cesar (Norma), Eduardo, Leonardo (Salome), and Conrado (Juanita); as well as his in-laws: Daniel and Adelina, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Max was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Proceso (Clarita), and Marciano Jr., by 3 sisters: Clarita (Chito), Teodora, and Rosalia, and by sister-in-law Purita.

Max was a loving and generous man who taught all who knew him the importance of family, honesty, and hard work.  He is loved and will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to Emelinda Gonzales to offset the funeral, transportation and travel costs. Your generosity is very much appreciated.
