Norma W. Breene, 87
Norma Wylie Breene born December 22, 1930 passed away January 15, 2018 at 87 years old.
She was born in Agawam, Massachusetts and was a graduate of UMass and later got her masters in teaching at Marymount University. Norma was an amazing person who spent her life learning and educating others. She was retired after over 20 years in the Prince William County School System as a special education teacher. She was active in her family’s lives and when her kids were younger she was a cub scout leader, basketball coach, brownie troupe leader and at age 40 took up Karate with her entire family and earned a 4th dan black belt.
Norma is preceded in death by her husband Victor Breene, parents William J, Wylie and Lillian Wylie, brothers William Wylie, Jr. and John Wylie and sons-in-law Terry Sullivan and William Batt.
She is survived by her sister Anna Warriner, her children, Dennis Breene, Moira Hawkins (Paul), Paula Bell (Ronnie), Shari Sullivan and Lorna Batt; her grandchildren, Sean Hawkins, Brittaney Breene, Victor Breene III, Karen Bell, Debbie McCall (Bryan), Megan Solomon, Katelyn Sullivan and one great grandchild Jayden Sitton and many nieces and nephews.
Norma was a devoted mother, grandmother and aunt. She will be missed dearly by everyone’s lives she touched.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11:00am at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, VA 22192 with interment to follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
